The rear de-mister only stays on for 10 minutes on my 96 A4 then automatically switches itself off. I find this really annoying. I can`t understand why Audi would have designed it to do this because I only have to keep switching it back on as the window will just start to mist up again, esp at this time of year

Is this standard?

Anyway to reset it so that it will just continuously stay on?

Thanks

Wondered this myself a few times. Its amazing that not many manufacturers have caught onto heated front screens. Seems pretty much just the Fraud group that bother.

also if you leave the heated screen on for too long it would stop working after a while. it would burn out.

Yep - Wifes Mondeo has heated Front screen - fantastic. ****** expensive though and as Strick said above - I too think it's just Ford who use these.
<Tip to replace if heater bit packs up - Windscreen excess of £50, Mate with a hammer, pellett gun etc. Free (if he/she's a real mate !!) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beerchug.gif
