looking for new springs - anyone tried these?

im looking for some new springs for my 2.8qs as i mentioned the other week, ive found these has anyone tried them or what do we think?

as ive already go the quattro sport suspension fitted will these make it look much lower ? im looking for more cosmetic than trying to make it like something for track days lol

FK stuff is reasonable quality. I wouldnt say its up there with the big names like Eibach, Koni or Bilstein, but its not scraping the gutter either.

Your Quattro is probably already about 15-20mm lower than "normal", so expect an extra 15-20mm from those springs.

My only worry would be that they dont have different kits for different engines on quattro models.

I had thought about the fact they only list quattro as a generic spring to all engines

But then thought how do we know that other suppliers don't do the same but just put a slightly different part number on and sell for twice the price lol

what's the weight difference say between the 1.8t and 2.8 ?

Be intresting to so how these performed and what drop they would give cars with the sport suspension!.. I wish they would list the lowering rates properly!

Theres about 50kgs between them i think.

My handbook says kerb weight for the TQS is 1490 and kerb weight for a 2.8Q is 1540.

I would imagine the front springs will be somewhere between 200-300lb-inch, which means you could be talking 10-20mm difference depending wether they're designed for a 1.8 or a 2.8.

I would hazard a guess that they're for a 2.8 though, as 1.8 quattros are relatively rare when compared with the whole B5 production run.

    Exactly.

You just dont know where in the range they've aimed for. They might have gone somewhere in the middle, so you get a bit more than the specified drop on a V6 and a bit less on a TQS. Suck it and see i guess.

Well thats the whole point isnt it...

You either spend lots of money on a kit thats going to work, or buy a cheap kit that may or may not do what you want.

Very few manufacturers will list the lowering rate.

The springs are progressively wound quite often for starters so they dont actually have a single rate, but if you think about it, its their "recipe". They're not going to publish the spring rates, because thats what they've spent the money developing.
