After finding my way around the new diesel for a month or so i'm basically just sorting the niggling problems now.

When i replaced the n75 with a new unit i started getting a strange noise when i shut the engine off. For all the world it sounds like a dying goose (no joke) and is obviously coming from the n75 area and surrounding vacumme hoses.

Any ideas what could be causing this?

do you mean a groaning? shreiking? squealing?

Dont hear many dying geese to sample round this way :p

Ha ha,

found a thread on tdi club that matched this problem and the chap described the sound as "a sad moo"!
The advice was that it was the anti-shudder valve drawing vacumm from the resevoir. Dont think this is an entirely normal noise so will check it out if and when this persistent rain stops.....
