resetting ecu, pls read

am i right in thinking if you disconnect the battery 4 a long period, this clears any fault codes and resets the. ecu /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I`ve not tried it on Audis but it works on others, it should reset in about half an hour, if that fails try it leaving it overnight - that has also worked for me in the past !

yeah fuc*in airbags, its been replaced b4, more expense

its quite common on these i think, isnt it to do with the wires below the seats for the side airbags. I believe a few people have even replaced the connectors completely and jus soldered them to stop it reoccuring

As you have discovered, it does reset the memory, but if the problem still exists, it will show the error still. This is only useful if it was an intermittent problem that you have fixed and just want to get rid of the light.
