A4 Remap

hi folks,

just wondering if anyone knows where i could get my 1998 1.8T Sport remapped? it was in a garage yesterday and they said theyre unable to do it because the ecu number ends in 558E, the problems something to do with the "E" seemingly.

Does the ECU have a 2 large plugs, or 5 small ones?

If its the 2 plug ECU you shouldnt have much problem.

5 plug ones use an obscure and hard to find EPROM, which means some places will be unable to chip it.

I'm not 100% sure, but 558E seems to ring a bell as being a later ECU to me?
