hi all should i flush my engine before i drop the old oil or not sure
as its done 138k on a tdi pd engine?

Personally I would do several oil changes over a few months, you just never know how many changes the car has had over the years, you could end up loosening a lot of sludge and then getting blocked & killing your engine. I've done about 6 oil changes on a 1.8T as the oil in the engine was thick & very black. I just kept changing the oil approx every 500-700 miles until it started to stay the same colour as when I put it in!

Thats what i will be doing, my car was serviced at Audi on 90k and not due for another 16k! which i think is mad! i tend to change my oil every 10k.

thanks guys it was done when i first got the car back in july but iv not used it much done about 3 or 4 k in it maybe lower the oil in it now is black but not thick.
b5nut how many times did you have to do it mate as the oil is not cheap that ill be putting in it.

I used Quantum oil for the flushes, then Mobil 1 once it cleaned up.

i change mine for winter and summer its about due now
ive never used engine flushes
the only thing i do is run the engine until the oil is really hot
before i drain it..
