i've had a few quotes for this and so far its from £500 to £650.

4 rings told me that theres alot of important parts to change but i ddint catch most of it over the phone.
can you tell me what they are please?

Audi Chingford are doing a special offer - £499 inc parts and labour and an extra £70 if you want the water pump sorted. im waiting for them to call me back re parts.

4 rings quoted £650 including a huge list of parts - inc thermostat.

and an independant specilist quoted £580 exc water pump.

what i want to know if whats important and what isnt - as this is a pricy job!! :(

Hi there if its a 2.5 tdi then i would do this lot. Full cambelt kit, tensioners, rollers, pump belt, injector belt + tensioner, aux. drivebelt, Thermostat, water pump with metal impeller and 5L of g12 antifreeze + computerized setting of the diesel pump/ diagnostic test also If the car is high milleage i suggest you replace the hydraulic damper next to the cambelt tensioner, bit pricey but they im told they can fail with high mileage. hope this helps

Yes - my 2.5 tdi cost £299 in parts ( as listed by swarcup), plus £157.50 labour, plus VAT, total £536. Done at an independent Audi specialist.

Thats from Audi right? i spoke to them today and they said that only encludes a cambelt repair kit - not all the vital componets are included.

I had mine done last month and it cost £349 all in.

I would be cheaper to drive down to Birmingham and get it done for £349 lol

You must have some good independents down south mate??

Well i have mine booked in at my brilliant local garage, always send my cars to them, £300 all in with a new metal pump and tensioner kit or something he said.

Happy with that!

If I had it done from Audi (Talking about the offer that Stafford Audi have), then will they replace all parts listed by swarcup minus the thermo and waterpump (which I can get done at extra cost).... all the belts and tensioners he mentioned, will they be replaced?

Audi Portsmouth completed my Cambelt change.

They did the Cambelt + waterpump and quoted me £610.00. That was for all tensioners and belts etc. The only problem was that the Hydraulic tensioner (not part of the cambelt kit) was leaking, so Audi replaced it as well for an extra £160.

I had a service done at the same time, all in all it cost me £1047.00

At least I get a 2 year unlimited mileage warranty and peace if mind.

Booked in for Stafford Audi on Monday... £395 for cambelt and tensioners on the 2.5 v6 tdi, and £70 for the waterpump.

Only thing is, car is up on autotrader aswell, and a guy made an offer without the cambelt done... well he better buy it before Monday...
