oil -urgent

Hi guys,
I'm changing oil tomorrow. When i was driving to work just a minute ago it showed low oil on dis.
Now have to get back home tonight which is about 80 miles drive.
What kind of oil should i add fof this trip? It's 1.9 tdi and i have no idea which oil is in engine now. Don't want to screw up the engine.

Thanks guys.It shows 5w30 and 5w40 on europarts.
I will get a 1litre bottle of 5w40 because its a better bet that i have it now.
But what can happen if i have 5w30 and will add 5w40?

hi mate you want engine oil to vw audi spec 505.01 at least for the pd engine you should be able to get a litre from any petrol station just for top up look for shell helix or the like but remember 505.01 minimum also when you do come to change the oil check out vw audi dealers own quantum long life 111 fully synthetic recommended for pd engines and £30.00 for 5 litres
