Would like to get a remap/chip.I am fairly new here and sen this mentioned. The idea of more power and possible better milage seems great. My only concern is reliability/longevity.
My car is a 2003 18T sport auto. The autobox shows 6 gears on drivers display when in manual mode.Dont know if that is trip/multi.The car has 18k on clock.I am second owner, bought 3 months old from MD,ex demo.
I have the car serviced using the longlife scedule,But the oil is not changed yearly.Dont do much motorway.
Is the remap for people who like to mod and not mind trouble OR is it a proven good thing?

Qawsed, pm Badger5 he's a member of this forum. This guy will sort you out and will be 100% honest with you. He remaped my 190t earlier this year.. Most owner's have opted out of the long term service plan as story's of sludge build in the sump which can lead to oil starvation. On the 1.8t's many owner's change the oil twice a year.
