2.5 TDI Quattro Clutch

My clutch isn't actually going, but with the tuning box on it cant really cope. Nothing majour really as i don't need to have it fitted.
So I've read about dual mass flywheels, and how much they cost.
Is it a huge job for this? Normally I'd go for DIY but don't think I'll be doing that anytime soon.
Whats the average cost for it fitted? Seen them for 160 quid for the clutch. Then fitting after that.
What are the chances of it needing a dmf?

DMFW is about £700 at main dealers clutch is about £70 and fitting is depending on where you have it done

OUCH thats expensive.
Whats the chances it'd actually need replacing and not just the clutch. Is it a case of have to wait and see once its out?

the bad news is they do go, but not as often as Audi would like them too

Like I said in PM, when my engine was swapped at 130k it made sense to do the clutch. The one in there was fine, although worn. It was believed to be the original one. I also had the DMF checked and that was reported as being fine, so at a similar mileage it need not be bad news!

Well!
Rang Audi today, had a nice chat with the chap.
He dropped the price to £700 with a car to take away, although he did give me an option where i don't even have to deliver it and it'll be back with me in the evening all done. Thats with 2 year guarentee too.
Got a price from a 'specialist', but i don't know them so i don't know if i want my car there. They were £554. So for the difference of £146 it'd have to be audi.
But on the way home, i nipped into my local garage. Who know me very well and despite their best efforts to talk me into doing it my self. They offered to do it for £470 all in.
If it needs a flywheel its £400 extra. Or £540 at Audi.
So it's booked into my local garage.

Turns out it had a clutch and flywheel at 19k under warrenty. So lets hope the 125k has been gentle on it!
Going to ask them to pop a new oilseal into the crank whilst the box is off.

For the cambelt you could give me a try ! I can supply a full Contitech cambelt kit (including the vibration damper wich is an extra £100+ VAT in dealer; tensioner,relay roller,pump belt and tensioner), KWP water pump(metal impeler), aux. belts and antifreeze for £400 supply and fit. Genuine thermostat + seal (checky audi charge a tenner for it !) is an extra £40. I have done hundreds of v6 tdi and i know them inside out.
I also know to use VCDS and Know what to do with it and how to time them injector pumps properly ! I am based in N. London but i can travel for diesel money if within reasonable distance. The whole job takes 6.5 - 8 hours and its not for the faint hearted. I also use full kit of genuine locking tools as the timing of them engines is very precise and "mark-and-pray" jobs are a No-no ! regards, Chris- 077 899 12128.

Yes mate, that will do ! How quick you want the job done ? I will have to get a injector pump reconditioned soon by dieselbob and i will rather drive and pick it up from him. Just need to find out if he can do one for me and exchange it with me non working one... Regards,

Its due in about 14-15k. So no majour rush. I wouldn't mind it done before i go to France in it in june though. But nothing majour if i don't.

Can you do 4 pot VW and Audi engines as well?
