A4 Cabriolet Problem

I have just tried to raise the high of my boot compartment using the handle inside the boot. ( When the roof is up it gives some more space in the boot)

The problem is that the handle has gone all loose and it seems I can see a small cable attached to the handle, which looks like it make have come loose.

When I pull the handle it moves freely but nothing else happens.

Does anyone know how to get at the cable in the boot or the cable routing

This is one of the biggest nightmare things time wise that can happen.

Do a search as it is a pain to explain. In a nutshell you have to take out all the boot lining and take the shelf out and wind the metal wire back on the spool

Yep, its a major job I'm afraid....to be honest, as long as it has come off in the 'down' position so that you can still open the roof I wouldn't bother...
