I have just purchased an A4 3.0i Sport Cabriolet .

It has 62,000 and has full audi service history using the Longlife service.

It is due a service in 6000 miles or 220 days.

I am looking at the book but see no sign of a cam belt change.

Is the cambelt change dependant on the longlife service. Being full audi service history I would have expected it to be done previous perhaps. (At the 5 year mark)

Any thoughts

I would also like to know people's opinions on this. I've just bought a low mileage (26k) 3.0 petrol with full Audi history and no belt change as yet. Surley as the car is 7 years old this should be done along with the waterpump???

Looking at the service schedule it just says 80,000 Miles. It does not state a time limit

It would be a brave man who ran it over 5 years in my opinion!

According to Autodata it should be changed at 80000 miles no time limit :( The same engine in the A6 is listed at 80000 miles or 8 years. Like James said you would be brave possibly stupid to let it go more than 5 years. I always change the cambelt when i buy a secondhand car so i have piece of mind.

when you do it get a few quotes, i got mine done with new water pump, pulleys, tensioners, belts and labour for £500 at an independent specialist. i phoned audi just out of curiosity and they wanted £700 but that only included the belts and labour, none of the other parts that really should be changed each time the job is done
