depends a lot on the tyres in ice and snow... problem with regular summer tyres: the harder wearing they are and the better they are on dry/wet roads, the worse they normally are on ice and snow.
Aside from that, Front Wheel Drive and TDI aren't a great combo on ice since there's a lot of torque... especially with the PD turbo diesels since the power arrives in one big torquey lump between 2000-3000 rpm...
edit: doh! 2.0TDI, so it's actually a B7, so common-rail TDI?
