I have a 2003 A4 3.0 quattro sport and want to fit an after market HID kit, iv had a brief look into this and i see some kits give problems.
Can anyone recomend a kit that will work 100% and not give me bulb failure problems? i take it i will need a kit that has the can bus?

Search this forum for HID or Xenons - it's been covered many many many times before.

Here is some HID work I've done: Slimline HID's in Headlights.

To clarify - kit claiming to be CAN-BUS compatible - a further confusion.
Retrofit kits do not use the CAN-BUS interface at all. What kits "may(???)" do is interfere at SWITCH-ON with the Crash Sensors near the front of the car mounted either side of the radiator - may give "Check Brakes" on the DIS, log scrambled data on the car ECU, etc.

Some kits may also pop-up "Bulb Failure" warnings on the DIS and may offer a fix by providing a shunt resistor to fool the car into thinking it has a higher wattage bulb - that's because HID's take less power than halogen bulbs. You should not need shunt resistors if you get the right HID kit.
