Well, went to Peterborough last night, around 6pm, stuck in traffic, temperature gauge started creeping so i pulled over and switched car off for 20mins, engine was below 90, started it up, continued driving, fine!
Got on the bypass home, temperature gauge shot round to 100 degrees, coolant indicator came on, oil warning came on, pulled over again, popped bonnet, opened coolant reservoir (being careful!) loads of pressure and steam!
Let it cool down bit, went to start it, wont idle, slow acceleration, lumpy running!
My diagnosis: Head gasket!
Engine: Reconditioned, 3weeks old, 800 miles since being done!
oh and a nice smell of oil through car vents!
