B6 Headlights,Projectors,HID question

Hello.First post here.I'm not an owner of an A4 yet (i wish i can get an b7 2.0tdi but they are not cheap or a b8 1.8tfsi) but i have a friend who has a 2003 A4 B6 Cabriolet 1.8T.The headlights are the stock ones which had the halogen bulbs.He installed xenons on the low beams (d2s) but is not happy with the lights.I know that xenon projectors and halogen projectors are not the same.So i'm looking to either retrofit some xenon d2s projectors or to buy S4 or after market headlights.Can i install A4 B6 saloon headlights,what is the difference between saloon and cabriolet headlights?
Any other suggestions?Any site which sells them,preferably in Europe?

Saloon & Cabriolet lights are totally different shape so you can't swap them between vehicles.

Yes.But they are the stock halogen projectors.Are the s4 saloon and cabrio the same?

I'm not sure, maybe S4 came with Xenon as standard I don't know.

For OEM xenon units?

I think I would just fit HID's to the standard projector headlights and invest the money on something else!

The problem is as i wrote on 1st post that he already has hids but is not happy with the result.When other cars drive on the opposite direction he can not see the road well.When he is alone in the road he sees quite well.And yes i meant a swap with oems.I think something like this

I dont understand what hes done then ,
my factory s4 xenons were no better than my retro fitted ones in my avant
he must have an issue with bad reflectors or duff hid bulbs that are not focusing correctly .

What colour rating HID's does he have? If they are higher than 4300k then that is his problem. 6000k are ok but a bit too blue, any higher than that and he may aswell stick with halogens!!
