Hi there im new to this site and have an a4 avant 1.9 tdi 130 quattro and thinking of having remapped its quite a quick car as it is but just fancy a bit more out of it if poss any reasons why its wouldnt be wise?

You need to post vehicle specific questions in the forum for that model. What chassis/year is your A4 so I can move it to the right place?

sorry guys as i say im new to this site anyway.. its an a4 avant 1.9 tdi quattro 130 it has 112,000 with full audi history up to 94,000 miles and ive had an independant audi specialist do the last two services and just had cambelt changed at 110,000 all servicing is longlife?

What age is she? I can move this to the right section then for you to recieve some more specific advice

had mine done at jabbasport , top job , and you can play x box while you wait ..

the pretty sure the 130tdi quattro was only ever a B6 edition - I think the B5's went to 110bhp, even for the quattro and the B7 only did a 110bhp in the 1.9TDI...

highish mileage, but probably still good for 150-160bhp with a gentle remap... Chip'N'Spin do a £250 rolling road before, remap and after... so you know what actually get, rather than the theoretical performance.

they will offer you the 170-180bhp (same price), but you might speed up needing a new clutch / turbo (I think they're normally required around 150-160k)...

I'm looking at getting mine remapped too J9NY X its a 1.9tdi Quattro 130 similar mileage but a couple of years older.

I am concidering using chip n spin but i think i will try out their ST3 module its £399 for ASN members you get 2 different maps on the unit and you can choose from :

Eco - 25hp 50nm
Fast Road - 45hp - 75nm
Race - 60hp 100nm

The module can also read and cler fault code on your car which could be useful and lastly if you change the car you can keep the module (after setting the car back to standard) and then get a new map for your new car for £100 i think.

Chip n Spin have their own section on the forum so might be good to have a look or drop them a private message.

ST3 sounds like a good idea... could still pop along to a rolling road and check it's actually pulling close to what they claim, otherwise there could be somethign that's going wrong in the background that you're not aware of....

Haven't used Chip N Spin before so can't comment.
Have used Upsolute software on a 1.8T LE (163bhp) up to 200bhp.
Have used Upsolute software on a 1.8T SLine (190bhp) up to 230bhp (+ Milltek catback).
Have used REVO software on our current 2nd 1.9tdi car (130bhp) up to c170bhp and is very good.
Am now also running an MRC Stage 2 Custom Map on the RS4...

All very similar. Would imagine AMD, Jabbasport, etc offer the same gains for a similar price (c£400 for your car I would imagine).

HTH

not had enough remap experience to shout and scream about one over the other - tbh, I think they all do much thte same, but really worth checking the actual output on a rolling road - ideally before and after...

Yep and only 3 weeks to go...

:yum:

as before - sadly not gonna make it.... if i'm around on any of the future one's, I'll pop down for the day - it's a couple of hundred miles, but still good for a Sat morning early morning blast and then cruise back in the arfo :)
