normal crank case pressure

Hi,

I have a 2004 A4 1.9 tdi which has done 75K, I have had the car aince 18K.

I recently had cause to remove the filler cap whilst the engine was running, I was surprised at the amount of gas escaping and want to find out what is considered to be a normal and excessive amount of pressure.

Blocked crankcase breather I expect. I think there is a pictorial guide to clean/change it in the diesel section.

cold you give me an idea of what normal pressure would be like ? When I place the filler cap on it jumps about a far bit but no enough to flip it off.

I've no idea I'm afraid, hopefully some with a 1.9 can advise?
