    Day 1 - disaster

First day of Audi ownership and the metal of my only key has snapped!

    Omen or what?

Am I right in assuming that general locksmiths can cut a new blade providing they can clamp the old one in a vice? I've glued the bits together but won't put it in the ignition as I know it won't hold but was hoping it was strong enough for someone to cut a new one from it...

Without seeing it I can't say but I used a guy on ebay that only required a photo of the key to cut me a new one.
