regular SE kit is jsut awful.... even the regular colour coded stuff is disheartneing when you see what a nice discreet look the S-Line (Quattro GMBH) kit gives the car... they ought to recall all those earlier B6's and make the S-Line a mandatory replacement

You forgot to hit your "OEM" key on your keyboard again Lost!!

SE's dont have a kit on the earlier edition but IIRC the newer SE's as 05 onwards come with the """"""S-LiNe "QUATTRO GMBH" "OEM" Door BlAdEs"""""

Discreet as the Sline it is , its still Got a Kit on....yeeesssss I know its """""""""OE....M""""""""" though

Am I right in thinking that Audi and the people who do the s-line kits and even designed the R8 are actually a slightly different company?

So Audi make a lovely, practical, functional machine, hand it over to the other company who's sole purpose is to make things "cool" and they design an "oem" kit for it; the s-line kit?

Or did I just dream all that up out of nowhere?

It used to be a subsidiary company called "Quattro GmBH", which was then brought in-house to design the S-Line.... and Audi went into a short-lived joint venture with ABT (in particular on the DTM / touring cars), which are also OEM to some extent...

I think S-Line, B8's, R8's, etc are designed by what is now an internal department.

ah J7 - I'd started typing that reply before you even bandied my name around in vain.... (but then got distracted)

Smooth - indeed, but on the interesting side of OEM.... I'm a huge fan of making a car look just a little bit different, to the extent that a VAG-head might know the difference and somebody who owns an A4 B6 WOULD know the difference and everybody else just thinks that you have a sporty looking OEM Audi... some car can get away with the Votex / Reiger / Hoefele kits, but you start treading a very fine line between classy motor and chav-chariot...

Interesting stuff, I knew I wasn't just imagining it.

And I completely agree with you on the interesting side of OEM and there being a fine line between a classy motor and chav-chariot.

I don't think you have anything to worry about Juss. The otty kit on your car, in your colour... oh my god!! It'll look so good it shouldn't be legal.

Lol thats funny, that was the very first thing I noticed! Has the camber been altered to allow the tyre further up into the arch maybe?

It may well be that the Votex is staying on for longer than I wanted, shipping from states is appalling!!

okay... I need to leave this thread....

    latest pics:

...are "slammed"... but a teeny bit too much... and then add the chrome grill and chromed alloys.... nah....

if u want it on the pimped end of the spectrum.... blacked out grill and anthracite R8 V10 bladed alloys....
    bit just darker!

maybe to be seen on mine soon if I mug my mate's R8 V10 when it's delivered.... he won't notice.... he's got a 360 spider and Murc to keep him busy!

I bet Your mates merc has shiney bits on it - better remind him he's chav'in it !!

Ha...Just noticed this thread..Avant is having a lil make over for this season..
otty kit off...50/50 about just keeping the front bumper thou..so theres some side skirts and front grille up fro grabs if anyones interested...

as for the height of the car its not that low and have no issuses with scraping as i have with my past cars which were... slammed...and theres no rear camber either...just spacers it must be the pic...
