gap insurance

hi there guys, my mate is looking to buy an 04 plate a4 1.8t but wants to buy gap insurance this time as he has lost a lot of money in the past due to theft, write offs and so on, so he wants to protect his investment

the only companies that i can find need the car to meet a set criteria such as under 8 years old, under 80k mileage at the start of the contract and so on

however the car he is looking at has 110k on the clock, does anyone know of any gap insurance companies that will provide cover for cars with this mileage?

Other thing to watch with GAP is pat of the T&C's will state the vehicle has to be purchased from a VAT registered dealer, its all to do with how they make there money and claiming back from Inland Revenue.
