Audi A4 FSI EPC Light and Loss Power

I am new here and not sure if I am posting this in the right place!
I have just bought a 2004 A4 FSI and the EPC light keeps coming on and the car temporarily loses power whilst it is on. The light only stays on for a second or two.

I took it to have diagnostic checks today and they said no faults were showing and that it could be that something was close to needing replacement and that if the light stayed on this was the time to take it back to check it.

Is this correct? Why does it temporarily lose power then? Is it ok to drive? It seems ok......

Whereabouts are you located? if you local to me then I'll hook it up to my VAGCOM, mine was doing something similar last year, turned out to be the engine speed sensor.
