2003 Audi A4 Quattro 5-Speed. Came on after a normal right turn. Dealer cannot find anything wrong with it, and the airbag mechanism checks out.

Any suggestions?

check the cable connection under each seat, that goes to the seat belt pre-tensioners hasnt unplugged itself, that will cause an airbag light.....and the car should have shown a DTC fault code....how did your dealer not find a code?

You cannot possibly have an airbag light on with no error code in the ecu / airbag controller.

Seconded

If the dealer told you they cant find a fault code, when the dash light is on, NEVER take your car anywhere near them again, as they're clearly a bunch of chumps.

Perhaps someone near you on the forum with vagcom will be able to help?

Its likely to be either the side airbag connectors under the seats, or the contact ring in the steering wheel. The fault code will tell you which, and the light WILL stay on until the codes are cleared, even if you fix the fault.

If you can't find anything obvious under the seat, look for signs of charred wiring or broken connections whilst you're there. Unplug all the connectors, replug, take to a specialist or fellow member with VAG-COM to remove the fault, it will reappear if there is still an issue, but may not clear if you don't disconnect / reconnect the plugs first.
