Just picked up my 2004 A4 from the dealer. Is there a break in period for my car? The dealer said no, but I dont trust the guy. He answered way to fast.

Can someone help me out before I lay into my new ride??

thanks in advance.

A lot of people recommend different things and length of times. Basically vary the speed, run through all the gears (don't take long trips all in the same gear) City driving is good to break it in. Don't open it up right away, let your turbo cool down before just shutting the car off...

I've heard anything from 600 Miles to 10,000 recommended for breaking the car in, but I'm no expert... just things I've read.

I took my time for the first 1000 miles trying to change gear at between 3-4k but got bored with that quickly the car now has 7k on it and seams to have opened up a bit
