Engine management light

Hi Guys,
Just bought a 2002 2.4 A4 CABRIOLET BLACK! Really nice car only prob is the engine management light is on.Did a quick diagnostic check and it says '16500 Engine coolant temperature problem! where is this sensor on the 2.4 petrol a4 as i changed this on my TT in about two mins.Any info pictures of the location of the sensor would be very much appreciated.The car drives great but struggled to start after a short run could the temp sensor cause this ?.
Got to sell my TT now still I like the new one and needed a bigger car just hope i can fix my prob CHEERS.

temp sensor might cause starting issues.

I think its mounted on the coolant gallery on the rear of the cylinder head. Usually a blue or green plug.

Will likely be pretty similar to the one on your TT

I took the car to an Audi specialist in Clydebank who changed the temp sensor. (black one out green one in) Only took him a couple of mins he topped up the antifreeze and reset the fault YEE HAA.
Goodbye engine management light for now.
Car now happily revs to the top end with no back fire, one happy and very relieved cabriloet owner ***thanks ****
