unpleasent smell from heater.

I have recently noticed a unpleasent smell when i use the heater.
I did notice that the A/C was not as cold this year.Would the 2 be connected?
It is not a burning or electrical smell,it just smells like manure,crap really!
Any ideas?

condensation can build up in the ducts from the aircon and become all mouldy, could be that.

I had this smell in my a4 i tryed aircon treatment from euro car part did the job you have to spray it in the vents . cost about £9.00
