My turbine sounds like a siren

Hello,

I own an Audi A4 1.8TQ B6. I have done aprox. 150,000 km (94,000 miles).

Yesterday, I have started to hear a strange sound from the turbo. It sounds like a siren and I can hear when I accelerate. A friend said that it it sounds like a dentist's drill.

From the garage they told me that the turbine starts to crack.

Is this the case?

If yes, do you think its a good idea to go for a bigger, more powerful turbine?

Any suggestions?

it could just be a boost pipe come loose, never happened on my b6 but i work on merc vans and from time to time it happens with them and 9 times out of 10 its a loose boost pipe on em, when u accelerate it goes higher pitch and visa versa when u let off the throttle, like one of those plunger-whistle-blowy type things on 'groove is in the heart'! but sayin that, you can never really lose if ur after a reason to go for a ko4 turbo!!
