Has anyone experienced problems with the Quattro gearbox on the A4 3.0 Quattro? I have the Cabriolet and find that the gears crunch - especially when changing between 1st and 2nd. Audi seem to be aware of a problem when the gearbox is cold, but I find the problem doesnt go away when it warms up. (It is definitely much worse when cold).

Anyone have an A4 3.0 Quattro Sport Cabrio without any gearbox problems at all?

Leave it a few months it will wear in. My saloon was exactly the same but since about 4-5k miles I have not had a problem.

ps. Welcome to the forums!

Interesting. I've now done 7K miles and if anything it's getting worse.

Mine wore in after a few K. Feels slick now. Take it to the Dealer if you feel it is getting worse. Get them to pull the lever and check the seating ring, Nylon or Teflon. These sometimes wear uneven or split affecting the change.

If that's the case then wizz it back to the dealer.

If you're in the UK then try and coincide it with a visit by an Audi engineer. If your dealer has access to one! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beerchug.gif
