Hey guys ive finally decided to get rid, been playing on my mind for a few months now as ive got my heart set on a newish X5 3.0d. My budgets gonna be 25k so hopefully should get one fully loaded.

Gonna miss the turbo kicking in and I must admit she's served me well over the last 18 months. Apart from the odd glitch i.e. coilpack failure and glove box lid breaking she has performed well. So gonna take some fresh pictures and get it advertise in the old autotrader and of course the classified section. Re price not sure but will be in the region of between 8-9k I think thats reasonable.

Spec is as follows:

late 53 plate 1.8t 190 Sport
Pearl Black
1 previous owner
Manufacturer supplied full s-line kit
Full service history of which 76k was audi dealer and the next 5K local audi specialist (timing belt/water pump kit changed at 78k)
Sports recaro seats
6-speed
18 inch rs reps
Xenons/HIDs
Will be sold with full MOT, service etc
Sat Nav point

any comments on price, spec are welcome

Will get some new pics taken and put on in classified - hey gonna miss you guys.

****** good price is u ask me...spec wise is high so i think it is the right price. i have been looking into getting an A4 and found my perfect one, but its got a lotof miles, a 2.5tdi and its going for 8995 so i believe u are asking about the right amount. maybe even a tad more?

If you get the 218 bhp engine they will remap to almost 250bhp and 565nm so you wont be short of turbo kicking in.

Thanks guys for the comments, I've been told the 190 Sports fetch a little more as they come pretty loaded i.e. 6speed, sports seats etc but ive never been one for over pricing the car hence always sold all my previous cars within a fortnight. So will be pricing it in the region of £8,750 ono (keep fingers crossed it sells) now lets hope it ****** stops raining so the car can get a good wash hence some decent photos.

You know your X5's James - the earlier ones were 183bhp I believe but the newer ones i.e. couple of years old are as mentioned 218 bhp. I had a little rummage on auto trader last night and there are some tasty low mileage X5's for around £20K mark - some bargains to be had

Think they've dropped a bit since the car tax increase news? The petrol models have always been good value, especially the 4.4 and 4.8 V8s...

Nice to look at, not that great to drive I found.

Pav and his 25K Budget!!!
Alright for some hey..
Good luck to you mate, was just getting used to having Dad around again...:bye:

I remember you saying you fancied an X5, its your hard earned cash at the end of the day and I say go for it. I do like the newer shape better than the old.

Good luck with the sale of your Audi too mate!:beerchug:

Thanks guys for your affection - now wheres my kleenex. Chris I'll miss you too. J7USS my son dont worry we'l keep in touch.

Hey guys re the price I need some help, ive mentioned im selling the car to a couple of friends and now theyre both interested - I havnt set a price as yet, whats the lowest i should take.

Re new car I considered the Porsche Cayenne but it doesnt come in diesel, the Q7 is out of my price range, the range rover is abused in bradford. Every drug dealer and his dog has a range rover sport plus the X5 is BMW afterall.

Just watch what wheels and tyres the X5 has. Big wheels buckle really easily on X5s and tyre prices can be horendous.

Cayenne is just butt ugly and from the ones we have seen in the workshop here they aren't put together that well. Q7 is ugly and far too large. Range Rover sport is an ok car, but plasticy for my liking, the proper Range Rover is far better and early 'new' model ones are coming in very cheap now.

New Discovery is quite nice but very bland inside.

But back to the X5, the only proper one to buy is the 4.8iS, then supercharge it !!!!

Check out "Dynan" in the States to see wha tthey do to X5s !!!

Seen an X5 today, had to have a good look around it to and cant believe the massive improvement with the new shape, looks loads more in proportion. Got better Body lines and looks sharper then the bog old tank looking thing before. I think BMW have balance it out pretty well this time.

Pav I say go for it mate.

Either that or Range rover! cant help but them hefty Drug dens...:yum:

Whats chav about an X5?

Where I live its the ultimate car for the chav family. Donned in fake Lacoste tracksuits and Bench atire for the wife, the only thing you need to finish off the look is a BMW X5. This town is rife with them, and of the people I know who have one I can honestly say they are t*#ts :keule:

I do actually like the car itself, although having been a BMW owner previously, and with the stigma that comes with driving one I will never have one again. I also dont think theyre a patch on an Audi either.

Sorry if my reply came across a bit "off" Pav, enjoy your new motor :sm4:

I too am a previous bmw owner and dont really care what stigma people like to associate with the marque they are still ****** good cars.
You get chav twats driving Audi's too.

Love the comments - each to their own I suppose. Still a few weeks before I find the ideal one - got to have the Comm Pack and dvd screens in back headrests for the kids, 20 inch alloys etc by the way where can I buy them shell suits from.... got to play the part.

Re 190 it will be in next weeks auto trader and hopefully in the classified section later this week.

Funny thing is I love my 190 to bits probably one of the best cars ive ever had and ive had a few inc 3 bms just need a bit more space - my lads are 15 and 13 and theyre nearly as tall as me and im over 6ft

Pav,

Your car sounds good dude! Maybe something that i'm after....

you have any pics of it?

Thanks
