TDi oil

Ok guys, im the newbe but maybe someone can help me for a start.

First quiery i have is, can i put 15w 40 mineral oil in it, assuming i change it in around 8k? The car has done 128k

You would be best getting an oil that meets the relevant VW spec, 505.01 for the B6 TDi 130 on a fixed interval.

I bought some Valvoline Durablend for the next oil change, £19.99 for 5 litres.

Intending to change it every 6k miles.
