flat spot

I have a 1.9tdi 130 bhp.

I get a flat spot at around 3000rpm in 3rd and 4th....its nothing major but quite annoying. Does this sound like an air mass meter issue?

I have seen them on ebay for around £40....are they a diy job or is it a mechanic job?

i had this same problem in my 2.5 tdi ,took it to audi steler and they said i had a faulty injector so they replaced it .....2 wks later same problem. then i took it to a frend of mine who is a very good mechanic and he did a full service with geuine parts .......problem gone and the car is actually is driving better now .

audi changed airflow meter when they did the injector made no difference
