Heater Control Console Replacement

My Heater Control Console from my 2001 A4 is dead and i need to order one from an Audi breaker somewhere. Part number on my Unit is:

8E0 820 043 Y

Phones round a number of breakers this morning and they tell me that they have a number of the units, but none with the Y on the end.

I called Audi and they have informed me that the letter on the end is just a code for the trim colour of the heater unit. However, the breakers tell me that all the units they have are identical looking and the letter is significant or else the unit they sell me wont work in my car.

Does anyone know what the letter means. And also, why has no audi breaker ever seen a "Y" unit before?!!?

I thought they were all the same colour ! Loads of guys including myself have brought climate modules for when retro fitting the nav.
The only different between them is one is for double din nav and the other for single din units as the curve on the climate module is a different shape.
