It's a D model so of no use if you have an RNS-E, for that you need a C, F, K, H, M or Q model module.

I've already stopped one person from bidding on this and wasting his money.

The Bluetooth is very worth while for a RNS-e even if you don't have a MFSW.

But there are several version of the Bluetooth module and the one in the listing version D which has very basic bluetooth support and I would definitely not buy it. I suspect that the seller bought this and then realised it wasn't suitable and is therefore passing it on, clearly stating the part number but omitting all the facts about the early D version. Ideally you need version M (or later) for everything to work correctly. You will also need the wiring loom to connect this to your RNS-e.

Just keep looking. They do come up on eBAY quite often and I bought my version M for £130 (if I remember correctly) I then bought new antena and microphone from Audi anf made up my own loom.

The main reason for getting the genuine unit is its superb integration with the car. With a compatible phone it will copy all your phone entried along with dialed, received and missed calls etc.

I think it is 'better' if you have the MFSW but it is not essential and works very well using the RNS-e to control everything. Much better than the after market bluetooth kits that require extra dial/screens to be mounted and spoil the OEM look of the dash.

Here is the list of part numbers for all the versions.

I did make my own loom for the bluetooth but unless you already have the required crimp tools etc you may find it cheaper to buy one ready made. Try www.kafatec.de for reasonably priced and good quality looms. If you do decide to make your own then you can find all the infor with redards to part numbers and pin outs over on the very useful www.navplus.us site.

Sounds about right for the Mike and Antenna. If you are interested I have both brand new and for sale. I was about to put them up on eBay but if you want to make me an offer then you are welcome to first dibs.

Hey guys, I appear to be the idiot who bought the above listing! Why do you say it's useless if you have the RNS-E? What won't work on it? This really ****** me off, I knew i should have checked on here first...

Hey Magnus - I hope the Bluetooth stuff works OK for you.....I had set myself a limit of £130, when it all went above that I thought s*d that ! Hence my original question that kicked off this forum question.

well I had been waiting for one to come up on ebay for ages! SO when I saw that one I got excited...
I knew I was going to be out when the auction ended, so I set an upper limit of 250 thinking I would be happy to pay up to that much...didn't realise it was going to be a kipper...
I'd like to know what the differences in functionality are though...I might install it anyway to see if it works! I can always take it out again...

Magnus.....yep, just test it out if it works great, if not just put it back on E-bay...good luck !
Let me know how you get on, as there seems to be a few "D" versions on E-bay at the moment !
