Hi Chaps,

Just been servicing the car and noticed a few problems that you might be able to help with -

1, Engine coolant change using G12 pink solution. After 30 mins of driving this turns black - why?

2, Replaced rear discs and pads but the handbrake is 3 times worse - why?

Cheers,

Gursh.

Oil or some other deposit is getting into the coolant somehow. Could be something major like a crack in the gasket. Alternatively bleed out the coolant from the plug underneath the car, and fill with distilled water and however many parts of coolant you think is necessary. When filling keep the bleed valve open and have the engine running so all of the old stuff comes out.

When you say the handbrake is 3 times worse, what do you mean exactly?

handbrake cable needs adjusting by the sounds of it as for the black coolant as golf said might be oil crossing into coolant somewhere

Thanks for the replies,

To answer your questions - the handbrake lever is now pulled three times higher than before, don't know why. Do you know where the adjuster is?

The coolant is a worry, we took off all the pipes and sensor and ran the engine pouring water into the unit for flushing. We did nothing under the car. Can you explain where the bleed valve is.

Cheers,

Gursh.
