Just had my car service the long life one.
I thought this was meant to be a 20.000 mile one as my counter started off at 19000 something once it had sorted itself out, I have done about 1500 miles its now down to 17k. its now dropping 100 miles everytime I go out this could be just 2 miles.
At this rate I will be in for another service in 5000 miles if that.
would I be better just to calculate 20k miles from the time I had the service.
Its dear enough as it is, dont want to have to be doing 3 services for one really.

The long life service is variable (as you are finding out!). The time to the next service is calculated by how you drive and the conditions you drive in (lots of short journeys - means shorted service intervals etc).

I dont do lots of shorts journeys though, mostly long
66 miles to work and back is not really short.

I've just had my TDI serviced. When you press the button that tells you how long left until next service, all that comes up is blank lines? I dont get any numbers telling me how many miles or days are left. Is this normal?

Yes, it will work out how you are driving and then display the mileage/days shortly.

Thanks, i thought the garage forgot to set it, lol.
