Flashing No. 10 and dead control panel

Hello Guys,

I got into my a4 today, turned the key, no problems.

Went to turn on the heaters and noticed that there was a red 10 flashing on one of the screens and none of the buttons worked.

Turned off the ignition, the number 10 continued to flash.

There is power to the buttons because they are warm, and there is red light behind the screens.


Has anybody got any ideas or seen this problem before?

have you tried disconnecting the battery to see if its a problem which will reset itself ? just an idea

I checked all the fuses today, and when i re seated the fuse for the dashboard illuminations and clock, the problem went away!!

But then a few hours later, it came back.

But reseating that fuse solved the prob again for a few hours.

its due for a cambelt soon so will just get it checked then!
