got a a4 3.0 cabriolet, how do i know if the lights are xenons? - may be a daft question but they look abit yellow to me!

thanks

Is there a height adjuster on the headlamp switch? If so they're standard.

i'll have a look thanks, next question, can i just put xenon lights in to replace the standard ones?

You'll need a proper conversion kit but they aren't strictly legal without autoleveling and washers.

Plenty have them mind, and still get MOT's ok.

Look straight in them. If you go blind they're xenons.

If you had xenons you'd know you have them. It's not difficult to tell the two apart.

Unless you're blind.

Maybe the OP has looked directly at them and gone blind, hence why he doesn't know if they're xenons or not. Mind you, that does raise the question of how he's managed to post on the forum. Has he got a Braille monitor?

it reads to me... i've had the car a week and not been out in the dark!!!

If you have headlamp washers, then it's more than likely that you have Xenons. Xenons ignite when they come on, this is because they need 20,000 volts to actually start up, if you switch your lights on and they flash, and then slowly blend in to a white colour from blue then you have xenons.

Hope this answers your question.
