Does this look right? Am I paranoid?

Hi again all,

Had the cambelt replaced yesterday at the audi specialist I've used a couple of times before. Last time he had my car in for a service he managed to scratch the rear bumper whilst reversing into his workshop. To give him credit he sorted it all out with a full respray etc, which is why I still go back.

Anyway, when I picked the car up yesterday I obviously had a quick check round to make sure everything was ok. Then when I got home I had a thorough inspection of the front end as this has obviously all had to be removed and refitted. In doing so I noticed a worryingly large gap underneath the headlight clusters on both sides. Now I don't ever remember there being a gap there before.

Can anyone tell me if I'm being paranoid and this is normal, or whether they've re-fitted it incorrectly. I've tried to look at the photos on here of other A4's but haven't found one in high enough resolution to zoom in and look. I've included some pics below which, at first glance look normal, but look closely at the gap between the base of the light cluster and the bumper. In one pic you can actually see engine components through it. Probably most noticeable on the left hand side of the last picture. (Sorry for quality, did them in a hurry.)

Thanks as always!

Mike

just checked on mine and my bumper practicaly touches the bottom of the lights about 2 mil gap

Thanks for checking Jase. Had another look at mine and I'm positive the gap wasn't that big before. Pain in the a*se to have to take it back in though!

Yes, it does seem the gap is slightly larger. Mine sits very close to the headlight.

The bumper can be a bit of a mare to get back on properly. Someone has to press it so it sits flush to the headlight while someone else screws it back in. This is the only way you can get satisfactory fitment.

Yeah same here, Mine sits nice and tight!!

On the last pic it looks like your bonnet and wing is out of alignment too.
