can anyone confirm the correct at which to change the cambelt on an A4 Avent 2004 1.9tdi (115bhp)
seem to be being told anything from 60k to 115k don't want to get it wrong and beggar the engine

thanks:think:

Fink Audi Recommend 60K.

Put it this way, i have a 1.9TDI thats just turned 101K on the clock, it has had the belt changed @ 60K, so it needs doing before 120K, but i'm getting it done soon, better safe than sorry.

Actually says 60k in the service book (Audi managed to get this one right)

I had the same issue with my recently purchased 2.5Tdi. I emailed Audi customer service and got them to send back a definitive answer in black and white just in case. It seemed that different Audi garages were quoting anything between 60k - 80k, and some unlimited mileage but after 5 years! Recently, VAG withdrew their advice on a blanket-wide figure, but technical support at Audi said 60k and check at every service for my car. I would assume yours would be the same.

Audi use to say 60k or 5 years but I now understand this to be 40k and 4 years, I was told this when I had mine done last year at 55k miles.

yeah i think round about the 70k mark but my mate at audi said the get chaned at 90k but be sure when you change your csm belt mate make sure u change, your water pump coz they have a tendency to go just after you have changed your cam belt

Audi Cov 60k, confirmed by Stoke Audi to as well as APS and Audi Roadside. Definitive answer for 1.9 tdi.

Not sure how it varies between engines, but the manual for my 2001 2.0 petrol says 115k, which I thought was a little high. So I asked the audi specialist I use when I last had it serviced at 69k and he recommended doing it at 80k. I've just had it done (yesterday) at 77k and when I booked it in he said it should have been done at 60k.

I said to him that he told me himself it was 80k and he said Audi keep changing their minds. Apparently it's now 60k or 5 years, whichever the sooner. Better to be safe than sorry though.

As previously mentioned, get the water pump done at the same time.
