Beep! Beep!

Hi Guys
I have a work colleague who mentioned to me a possible problem with his '02 1.9 tdi Avant. Apparently for the last couple of weeks, when starting the car first thing in the morning, he has experienced 1/2 a dozen or so beeps coming from somewhere in the region of the nearside rear of his car. It only seems to be when starting the car from cold (overnight) but doesn't happen every morning. Any ideas? All info/comments gratefully received.

Its normally the batteries in the alarm siren.Very common.

hi, mine has been doing that on and off for the last 6 months. I have not taken much notice to be honest, I think when the problem gets worse the alarm goes of randomly?? Then you have to change the unit in the wheel arch.

Does anyone know if you can change the alarm to set of the horn instead of that usless alarm noise that they make as standard???
