Engine Management Light

I've got an A4 8E B6, 2001, and since this morning the Engime Management Light is flashing. Wanted to know what it might mean . What do I have to do?

What engine is it and where abouts are you?

An engine light could mean anything, you will need to hook it up to Vag Com which is a diagnostic tool.
