£750 by Camberley Audi.
£680 by Reading Audi.

Apparently 5-6hrs labour?

Is this true?

I'm not sure how many hours labour it is for the 3.0, but my 1.8T takes around 3 hours.

The stealerships are trying to milk you for all you're worth, find a local specialist and you will get quotes around the region of £350-450.

Also, it is best to get the parts yourself so you only have to pay for labour. Look on gsfcarparts.com for the cambelt and also water pump.

I imagine it's the same on the B6 and the B5 V6, the whole front of the car has to come off so it is all labour and only about £180 of parts. So if you go to Audi you're paying £90+ per hour for basic monkey work.

Cheers Andy - just got two NON-dealer quotes (waiting for 3rd to get back to me)

80Kservice cambelt Total
Audi Reading £475 £680 £1155
Audi Camberley £440 £750 £1190
Fleet Garage Services £362 £440 £802
M.V.S Guildford £329 £435 £754
A.N.Other £tba £tba £tba

To be honest, the chap I spoke to at Fleet Garage Services knew his stuff and this is the bare minimum I would expect before handing over my keys. In stark contrast, the Audi stealerships (guffaw-guffaw) were very "un-decided on the actual price and labour involved for the cambelt.......come on, it's only 5yrs old, it's not like it's an antique! :D

Come on be fair to the poor dealers they rarely get to see anything that's outside of the manufacturers warranty!

Did they replace the water pump? It seems that this is a recommendation or so I was told by everyone I rang up (dealers and specialists)
