Weard happenings!!!

Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help me with a problem. I have a 2001 A4 1.8T Sport and I noticed coming home tonight that when I wound down the window all the dash lights went super bright just like Blackpool illuminations!!!! Has anyone seen this before? It does need a 60k service so I was wondering if this is one of those "oops I'd better get it done ASAP" tricks?

Also does this car have a cam belt? Someone said it has a chain???

better have ya alternator checked looks like it could be overcharging,if it is it'l burn! all your electrics!!!!
im 100% sure your car has a cambelt.

There is a cambelt AND a chain on these engines, get the belt done sooner rather than later if i was you
