Gear lever gaitor

Is it easy to remove?
My gear stick has a annoying creak when changing 1st to 2nd!
I think removal of the gaitor and a bit of oil willsort it?

Not sure about yours but i have an A4 quattro and I took mine off today. I just pulled it with short sharp pulls and it clicked out. just push back in when your done.

Pull on the leather bit?

The plate edge nearest the ashtray if that makes sense. The leather bit is joined to it.

The correct thing to do is open the ashtray and you'll see a couple of screws (IIRC). Undo them and remove the bit of trim between it and the gaitor.

You can then unclip the gaitor and trip and pop it out. The gear knob etc is all part of the same unit.

My gear nob was chipped and sharp hence I did the replacement.
