When should it be done? The service book mentions various different mileages for various different engines (diesels and petrols), but as far as I can see there is no mention whatsoever for my 2.0 petrol.

I assumed it was 60k, which mine has just hit.

Also, anyone had this done recently or got quotes? What sort of price am I looking at?

Cheers

Mike

Approx 115,000 miles, and it cost me £428 inc new waterpump, cambelt tensioner, and a new alternator belt tensioner.

Oh right ... 80k ... cool. I've got another 20k to go then before having to shell out for that.

Thanks for the info.

Cheers

But I would still get it on sooner rather than later, especially as your car is coming up to five years old.

Yeah, you're right. Better to be safe than sorry. But think I'll leave it another 10-15k unless someone advises me strongly otherwise.

Will get it checked at the next service and see what the experts think.

Funny enough i just received a letter from Audi saying i needed to get this done. The car has only done 50k...... i think i will wait a bit!

I've just had mine changed on a diesel. It's only done 25k but is coming up to 5 years old. I've always believed that it's 60k or 5 years. I checked the belt and thought it looked like it needed doing.

To me it's best to be safe that sorry. Had water pump and all tensionsers done at the same time.

My 2.0 FSi was 110k miles in the book, It was done @ 106k but the specialist reckoned it had already been done even though it hadn't been stamped in the service history, which was a pain as it cost me good part of 500 quid to get done.
