Replacement front Discs

Ive had my car MOT'd today and it passed, however the guy said the front discs will need replacing soon. Im looking at alternatives to OEMS becasue they tend to be a lot more expensive and no better than aftermarket ones. My freind has got EBC and thinks they are great and they seem to be pretty reasonable. Anyone got any suggestions???

will you fit them yourself? i bought QH discs and std pads from the local brake dealer for just over 70 quid all in. About an hour a side to fit, there are a couple of recent threads if you search.

Probably not. I want to be certain that they will work after fitting!! I had a search for the threads and it doenst look that difficult. But I would like to be 'confident' if you know what I mean.
