Cambelt check

hi all,

how do I go about checking my cambelt to see if it needs replacement

2002 a4 1.9tdi 130.

I guess I should get it changed anyhow, with mileage now hitting 56k?

I was told to change mine on my 1.8T at 60,000 miles and to ignore the service book which says 70,000. That was the advice from 2 main dealers. So you should book it in around the 60K mark.

The service book actually states 60k for diesels anyway (I thought it was 80k for 1.8T). Either way not something you want to push your luck on.
