hi guys n girls.
i dont know if this is normal or not, but our 1.8t sport apears to continue reving when you change gear.
Its not noticable when you are going at a slow pace just when you turn the wick up a little.
Any ideas, or is it me just having to get used to new motor?

Hello Jay.

I think it's probably ok and just a normal trait of having a DBW (Drive-By-Wire) throttle.

The problem is there's no mechanical link between the throttle pedal and throttle body on the engine. It’s possible to ‘trick’ the car into thinking you’ve still got your right foot buried, when in fact you’ve let off.

I'm sure you'll get used to it. I drive a few cars with DBW throttle and most 'hang' between gear changes when you give it a bit of stick. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

You could always ask a dealer what they think of it or ask them if it sounds normal.
