Morning all
With the help of some most excellent friends got the slipping clutch in the quattro fixed within three hours last night, including a ten minute break for supper! Speedy work! The only bit I ended up having to help with a bit was bleeding the pedal too, most relaxing.
My dual mass flywheel was knackered, no springy in it and no cushioning at either end of the stops. Plus the release bearing had wear marks all around where pressure plate fingers had ground through it!
Anyhows, initial impressions are good, the power delivery feels different but this is compared to the slipping old clutch and ruined DMF, there's a bit of a judder when pulling away from standstill but I suspect this is because the new clutch actually has some sort of friction plate compared to none.
