Headlight Switch Wiring

Hi.

I need a 12v feed from the headlight switch which is live when the lights are on, this is for the illumination wire on an aftermarket headunit.

Does anyone have a Haynes manual or knowledge of what colour a suitable wire is?

I just tapped into the ashtray illumination wire

just pop out the gear lever surround and it's on the gearlever side of the ashtray .

Extract from Woorlords previous thread for lighting up the heater vent bulbs but i reckon it should do what you need.

The Dash illumination uses a +12v variable voltage (dimmable) feed, I sourced this off the main light switch, pin 10 (brown) is 0v and pin 17 (grey/blue) is the var. 12v fedding all dash led lights.
